I married my wife Sara 10 years ago. Together, we purchased our first home, a condo in Fox Chase. We later bought a home on Sarnette Street in Clinton Township. This is where we are raising our two daughters, Abigail, six years old and Sophia who will be three, this year.
Macomb County was a great place to grow up. I want the next generation to be able to say that. When I think about why I’m involved in public service, I think about what I want for my daughters. I want them to receive a quality education from our public schools. I want clean, safe and well kept neighborhoods. I want them to be able to swim in Lake St. Clair or canoe on the Clinton River or play sports in our parks, free from pollution. I don’t want them to have worry about how they will pay for health care. What I want for my children, I want for every child in our community.
I also want a community that cares about those that came before us. That means affordable access to health care and prescription drugs. It also means programs like those offered by our Senior Department. Programs that keep seniors active.
I also believe that County Government has to play an active role in helping to facilitate growth in our economy. Businesses need a county that will help them grow and succeed. That means low property taxes and efficient and accessible services.
It means working to strengthen the manufacturing climate and working to attract diverse business growth. It means business retention and business attraction efforts. It also means affordable access to the higher education necessary to upgrade the skills of our available workforce.
Mostly, I remain focused on being accessible to you and all the residents who placed their trust in me to serve our community. I will continue to speak up and speak out. I will continue to focus on resolving issues for residents.
